School Direct fee paying:
School Direct fee paying is a new training route into teaching offered by Southfields Academy and leading to a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE). The programme was officially launched in September 2012 and Southfields Academy as one of the first schools in the country, is currently training the first cohort of School Direct fee paying trainees.
Your training will last one academic year and will be provided by Southfields Academy and one of our HEI partners - Goldsmiths, St Mary's or the Institute of Education. Your school placements will be either at Southfields Academy or at one of our partner schools in our National Teaching School Alliance - which currently includes a wide range of secondary schools, special schools and a primary school.
The programme will enable you to be trained by our experts in I.T.T. (Initial Teacher Training) as well as benefit from the academic rigour and expertise of the excellent staff at our partner universities. Southfields Academy already has a well-established E.B.I.T.T. (Employment Based Initial Teacher Training) which is graded 'outstanding' by Ofsted and evaluated as the best E.B.I.T.T. in the country by 'The Good Teacher Training Guide - 2011'.
