Carole Gray, the Parents' Champion

I would like this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Carole Gray and I am the College’s ‘Parents’ Champion’.  I have worked at Southfields for eight years as a
member of the support staff. I work with both adults and young people.

Being a Parent/Carer is at times one of the most difficult jobs in the world, but it can also be both rewarding and challenging, and so worthwhile.  Part of my job as
your ‘Parents’ Champion’ is to help you with any concerns or issues you may have with your child whether at home or at school.

Although I am not a teacher I am able to liaise with teaching staff and assist you should concerns arise.  I am only too happy to meet you for a chat to talk over things or
offer to give you telephone support if you prefer, or perhaps support via e-mail on a regular basis, please do not worry on your own.

I know only too well from experience that if our children are worried or unhappy for whatever reason then we as Parent/Carer feel the same too.  Children are the
most precious things and we want to do the best for them and I am happy to support you in any way I possibly can.  All matters will be dealt with in the strictest
confidence.
