SIXTH FORM EXAMINATIONS / BTEC COURSE FINISH DATES

Dear Parent / Carer

Many students are now finishing their courses:

  • Year 13 BTEC students finish on Friday 17th May.
  • Year 13 'A' Level students finish on the date of their last exam.
  • Year 12 L2 BTEC students finish on Friday 17th May.

Year 12 AS Level and L3 BTEC students will finish on Thursday 4th July.  BTEC students will work solidly until this date.  AS students will start their A2 studies when thier AS exams have finished.

Please note: there is NO study leave for sixth form students.  The only reason to miss a lesson would be if they had an exam (or had been given permission by their teacher to revise for an exam).

Your son/daughter must use their individual statement of entry to ensure that he/she is attending his/her examination at the right time.

All morning examinations start at 08:30 am and afternoon examinations start at 13:00 pm.  However, students should aim to be in school at least 30 minutes before their exams begin.

If a student arrives late to an examination the school will not permit entry and the examination board will also be informed of the lateness.  The examination board is unlikely to award the qualification to the student unless there is a formal medical certificate to explain the lateness, and even then the examination board is still not bound to award the qualification.

Dates for your diary - Thursday 16th May is an INSET day and Friday 7th June is an IEAP day.

A full GCSE and A Level timetable is available by clicking here.

A copy of the examination rules and code of conduct is available by clicking here.  Please go through these regulations carefully with your son/daughter.

A reminder that the sixth form celebration takes place on Thursday 4th July.  Details will be issued in advance of this date.

A Level results will be available for collection from the school on Thursday 15th August between 9.00am and 11.00am.

I hope that your son/daughter works hard in his/her final preparations for the examination and is rewarded with success on results day.

We wish our students all the best and look forward to the celebrations.

Yours faithfully,

Ned Browne
