Tutorial programme You will have a personal tutor who will be your first point of contact for help, advice and information. They will provide you with a tutorial programme which includes study skills, career planning and personal development. Your tutor and head of year will help you to plan your learning and set your targets, give you feedback and identify successes and areas for development. There will be regular contact with home, including two parents' evenings a year.
Student Support If you need support we have a range of specialist staff. You could work with our gifted and talented achievement mentor or our unique mentor for students with English as an additional language. We also have a dyslexia specialist and offer a wide range of study support options for students who want to push themselves further.
Library/Sixth Form Study Rooms You will be encouraged to use the excellent Library facilities which, in addition to the Internet, have the latest books, CD Roms, magazines and newspapers. There is also a sixth form section for careers and higher education. In addition to this we have two sixth form study rooms with computers.
Common Room Sixth Form students have a dedicated common room with a pool table, a table tennis table, table football and a TV/DVD player.
Extra Curricular Activities As a Specialist Sports College we offer a variety of activities including football, climbing, basketball, table tennis, trampolining and badminton. Trips are a valuable part of your learning programme. Some are specific to the courses you are studying whilst others are recreational or part of the leadership and team-building programme. Past visits include weekend trips to Outward Bound Centres in Wales and the Lake District. Click here to download the current Extra Curricular provision for Sixth Form students.
